LESSON TEN:  THE SPIRIT-FILLED LIFE

1.  LUI – LIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
a. Instead of living under the influence of alcohol, what influence are Christians suppose to live under?  Ephesians 5:18

b. This overflowing of the Holy Spirit in our life will satisfy our spiritual what?  John 7:37-39

2. THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVES US GIFTS FOR A PURPOSE.

b. For whose benefit did we receive these spiritual gifts?  1 Corinthians 12:7, Ephesians 4:12

c. Who decides who gets what gift?  1 Corinthians 12:11

d. Spiritual gifts are designed to be used in an atmosphere of what?  1 Corinthians 13:1-3

3. SPIRIT-FILLED RESULTS.
a. As an individual, we become more Christ-like displaying the fruit of the Spirit.

b. As a body, the church is built up becoming more of what Jesus Christ wants us (the church) to be.

c. It inspires community worship and a spirit of mutual concern.  Ephesians 5:19-21

d. It empowers us to be witnesses for Jesus Christ, sharing our faith around the world (through international missions) and in our own backyard (personal witnessing).  Acts 1:8

4. SHARING OUR FAITH.
One way of sharing the Gospel (the good news about Jesus Christ) is to use the “Roman Road”.

a. Romans 3:23 We are all sinners.
b. Romans 6:23 The consequences of sin is death.
c. Romans 5:8  Jesus Christ died for us.
d. Romans 10:13 Call on the Lord; pray and ask God to save you.
e. Romans 10:9-10 Believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and confess it before others.
f. Romans 6:4  Be baptized as a public symbol of your new life in Christ.
